Madelyn loves it when we start making dinner or need something out of the fridge because then she can start taking everything out and organizing it her way! She likes to line her favorite items (drinks, yogurt, butter, yeast) in a row at the bottom and then admire her work. Of course, then she gets frustrated when the fridge door won't close. I'm not sure how much extra we're paying in energy costs when she does this, but it's a nice two-minute distraction while we're trying to cook dinner! :)
