I love the month of May. It is one of my favorite months of the year. I have always loved the spring weather, the beautiful blossoming of trees and flowers, the excitement of lots going on.
But what happened five years ago this month trumps all of that...the birth of our first-born at the end of the month. And it looks like this year we get to celebrate for a week...or more.
Today we were off to preschool to share Madelyn's birthday story and some of her favorite things with her classmates.
Madelyn loves anything My Little Pony, especially the pony Rainbow Dash, and so she requested rainbow-colored cupcakes.
She picked out the sprinkles and some sour gummies to go on top and decorated each one very carefully.
She also asked that we have a picture with each of her many emotions: happy, mad, sad, surprised, and silly.
Madelyn, you are one fun girl! Thanks for letting me come to school & celebrate with you today!

We are looking forward to getting to celebrate with you all this year. Maddy has such a personality! I love the 5 pictures of emotions. That is so smart!
Wow--she's going to get to celebrate all sorts of places this year! It's amazing she's going to be 5--it doesn't seem like that much time has really passed.
