Madelyn has been waiting for months now for loose teeth and eventually, of course, to lose a tooth! She watched as it happened to almost all of her friends, and so the day that she discovered two loose teeth was very exciting! However, they were loose for months. They became so loose, they were just hanging on by a thread like this:
So on Monday morning when I heard her screaming with delight in the bathroom, I knew exactly what had happened. She lost her first tooth!

What's funny is that it was the same tooth she got when she was 15 months old. Maybe it's related...getting teeth late means losing them late too?
So that rainy afternoon we made a pillow where her tooth fairy could find her tooth. In exchange for her tooth, her tooth fairy brought her a nice (tiny) letter and a one-dollar coin.

On Tuesday while eating lunch, Maddy thought she had bit into a rock, but when Misha and I saw the blood on her bread we realized the rock was her second tooth! The mystery still remains whether it was swallowed or spit out on the ground.
