After our adventurous trip home from Kansas it was time for some relaxation. The day after we returned I headed up to girls camp for a day and then met Jonathan, Ariel, and the kids in Park City. We had lunch at Cafe Rio and then checked into our resort in Deer Valley.
We visited Main Street and the Utah Olympic Park where we rode on the Alpine slides and watched a diving show and "rode" our own bobsled. The kids also loved the playroom and the pool at the resort.
And of course, watching movies.
Thanks to Ariel, Jonathan and I were able to sneak away one day to go hiking. We rode up the mountain on a ski lift and hiked even further up Bald Mountain where we had the most gorgeous view of Heber Valley and of Jordanelle Lake.
We then went out to dinner in Park City to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful day!
(On our actual anniversary on Sunday)
The next week we tried out the new splash park by our house. The kids loved soaking up the sun! : )
Jacob and Tonya's family came to visit for a few days on their way to California.
We took them to the splash park and city creek. We also went to a Japanese restaurant as we always do with their family. Violet was so cute with Luke and Evan.
And Henry too.
We also enjoyed taking them to one of our favorite parks and riding the zip line over and over.
The next week we went to Vancouver to visit some dear friends. On the way we stopped at Multnomah Falls. It was much better weather this time around!
We arrived at our friends' house that afternoon and started playing right away in their beautiful backyard.
The next morning we went into Portland and had breakfast at Voodoo doughnuts. I can't believe how much our children have grown since we were last there!
Plus, a big plus! now we have Henry!
Then we went to one of the fun water parks in Portland and ate lunch at one of the many food trucks.
It was such a great day and so fun to see these friends of ours!!
That night we made it to Amman and Liz's house. The next day was Sunday and we had a great time going to church together and having Sunday dinner together. Liz made a delicious lasagna that we all loved! We played games (lots of Uno!) and I finally got to watch Amman and Liz's wedding video. So sweet!!
The next day we got to go hiking all together by Mount Ranier. It was the most beautiful hike with the greenest grass to snow! The kids did so well, I was so proud of them!
And daddy was quite the trooper carrying a couple boys at a time sometimes!!
We also went to the aquarium,
where we touched lots of sea animals,
and watched them feed an octopus!
We also went to Pike's Place market
and went to the Crab Pot for dinner.
The kids loved cracking open their own crab legs!
While in Seattle we also went to a park in the Queen Anne district and on a chocolate factory tour.
We had to wear these attractive hats and booties at the tour. But all of the chocolate samples made it worth it!!
We also went to the beach one day, shopping, swimming, and berry picking. Amman and Liz are the best hosts!! And it was so fun to be with them!
