1. A Pony Party with Friends

Welcome to "Pony Land"

We started by coloring lots of pony pictures, and the boys were good sports too. Then we played pin the sticker on the pony, freeze dance, who's got the jellybean, musical ponies, gifts and cupcakes. Maddy was so excited the whole day, it looked like she was going to burst. I loved the sweet smiles she kept giving to all around her.

2. The ACTUAL Birthday: Red Lobster and SnowPhotobucket
Maddy chose Red Lobster for dinner. Yes, a bit grown-up, but you only turn 5 once, right?!
Photobucket
Madelyn really wanted lobster, but settled for the shrimp from the kids' menu

A gift from Evan: A miniature Sleeping Beauty to replace the one with the broken head. Yay!

And another dress-up...Girls can never have too many dress-ups

A new bike! We have yet to learn the concept of pedaling, but Daddy and Maddy have many practice sessions lined up.
Photobucket
The weather outside! This is why the bike sessions had to wait for another day. Crazy!

3. A Party in her birth state: Kansas! with lots of familyPhotobucket
The much-desired Pillow-Pet! from Grammy and Papa

A party at the park...The weather in Kansas was much, much warmer and more humid. But look at all of the beautiful GREEN!

Maddy made up a game about princesses running away from a witch. It was a hit!

A beautiful cake by Grandma Starr. I have yet to make a cake! And I'm hoping my luck continues.

We sang "Happy Birthday" twice, because Maddy insisted her name is Madelyn, not Maddy!

Happy 5th Birthday Madelyn! It was so fun to celebrate YOU.
