Our Starr Stories: summer bucket list

Back in June it seemed like summer was starting to get away from us and I was determined to have some fun with my little crew, even being 7-8 months pregnant. My aunt had a brilliant idea with her 4 kiddos, with clipboards of chores and homework and a reward of a different activity for each day. So fun and creative! But alas, I am not as ambitious and knew with 3 kids under 8 we would have to be much more flexible. So we came up with our own summer bucket list.

The kids would have a list of chores to do each morning, a school worksheet and a bonus chore (my favorite!) :) and if they got it done, they could pick something to do on the summer bucket list. Some days were great, some not so great. And we certainly didn't make it all the way through the list, but it sure was fun trying!!

These activities were usually low-key, low-maintenance, but the kids loved them. We did things like make homemade ice cream, board game day, library event, neighborhood play, swimming, fishing, lemonade stand, and some a little more involved like the movies and the zoo.
