On Christmas Eve we had our Stewart cousins over for the traditional sugar-cookie-making.
The girls enjoyed using the press-dough maker too.
The boys were so excited when Griff and Cam brought over their old power ranger suits!
Merry Christmas to them for sure! : )
Madelyn and Anna were the last ones at the table...making sure every cookie was nicely decorated.
It was fun to pass Henry around too...
For Christmas Eve dinner we decided to do something a little different.
We had fondue and Italian sodas!
Then we acted out the nativity and watched "Joy to the World" while eating chocolate fondue.
Maddy made sure to leave lots of cookies for Santa and our elf, with a special note.
Then, in the middle of the night, Santa came!
Luke found the treats right away, while we all opened stockings.
Evan and Luke enjoyed their new train set and table! (And really, so did the rest of us that day. Mommy couldn't stop playing! :))
Madelyn's new furby has a mind of its own, and some attitude.
Henry's FIRST CHRISTMAS!
The rest of the day was spent eating Christmas brunch, relaxing, and playing with toys.
That evening we had the Bruderers over for Christmas dinner. We had ham, turkey, Kristi's yummy potatoes, Nicole's delicious salad, rolls, and Jonathan's peanut-butter-chocolate trifle...soo good.
The kids had fun playing with their new toys while the adults talked.
It was a good time and a perfect way to end our day!
Although I missed my family like crazy, I kept reminding myself that having a Christmas with just the six of us is rare and, certainly in the years to come, I know I will ache for these days. It truly was a perfect day focused on family and our blessings from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Looks like your Christmas was wonderful and full! Sure wish we could have been together. On Christmas Eve Faith said it would have been perfect if only you guys were here. She was very worried that you guys were lonely with no family there. We love you guys and look forward to all that 2013 brings!
How delightful to see how you spent your Christmas. You are certainly building strong family traditions that you children will cherish--as well as Mom and Dad do.
