My Dad celebrated his 49th birthday on July 3rd and we were lucky enough to be with him on what has been lovingly coined, "Robert's Day." His mom always makes him a flag cake for his special day, so I decided I would give it a try. It turned out well, thanks to Ina! :)

Before cake though, we went out to dinner at Guru's cafe in Provo and enjoyed some yummy burritos, pasta, salads, salmon, etc.

Madelyn very much enjoyed her pasta dish and cleaned her plate!!

Then it was off to Stadium of Fire (sing it with me now) to see Miss (or Mrs. now) Carrie Underwood sing. We also saw the amazing violinist, Jennie Oaks Baker perform and watched the Boy Scouts celebrate 100 years of scouting with an Eagle Court. And then the amazing fireworks! It was a great show and so fun to be with my family.

My aunt Julean graciously watch Evan while Madelyn came with us to Provo. We heard Evan had a marvelous time with his cousins and loved the BOOM of the fireworks.

Madelyn was a bit emotionally unstable until her Daddy purchased her favorite snack, popcorn and lemonade. What was her favorite part of the night? She will tell you the popcorn and lemonade. Oh, and the fireworks.

We celebrated the Fourth at my uncle Gentry and aunt Megan's. They had a delicious backyard BBQ with ribs, chicken, and of course, hot dogs. The conversation after dinner was priceless too. I always laugh the hardest with my fam, and of course, my hubby. :)

After dinner, Uncle Gentry led the kids in doing fireworks.

I don't think Evan enjoyed the smoke too much.

Another random photo: some used fireworks.
