My mom gave me the BEST gift last Christmas. It makes our family home evenings a breeze, but it also makes them more meaningful for us too. There is an orange box that we get out each Monday evening that holds lots of ziploc bags, each numbered and each containing one item that goes along with the lesson. The kids take turns picking a bag from the box. The number on the bag matches the number in a binder full of lessons that my mom put together as well. A few months ago we had a lesson on Samson, and guess what was in the bag? Samson's long hair that gave him strength in the Lord. We all thoroughly enjoyed this lesson and loved trying on the beautiful, curly hair. We have found it is the simple family home evenings that we remember the most, and give us time to each share our testimonies and bring the Spirit into our home.
We love family home evenings and even though they are far from perfect and quite chaotic, the orange box has made all the difference! And after a great lesson, there's nothing like a yummy treat we can all share together. THANK YOU MOM!!!!
