The main reason we went to Kansas in October was to celebrate my Mom's 50th Birthday! And we tried to celebrate right. She is such an amazing, smart, gracious, loving lady that she deserved to feel lots of love in return on her special day.
We transformed my Grandma Neer's backyard into something magical. We hung strings of lights and pictures of my mom from her childhood through adulthood from the trees. We also included pictures around the tables that described the many roles she has and does play in her life.
Thanks to Crystal, there were lots of beautiful fresh flowers too!
Jonathan, my dad, my grandmas, and my aunts were an amazing help…a dream team to pull something like this off in half a day.
We had a corner for the kids to draw and color and I loved looking over as soon as we arrived and seeing that Madelyn and Evan had already found it! They wrote some really sweet things and pictures for their Grammy.
A few pictures of the festivities:

The 50 envelopes held the answers to the 50 question quiz all about my Mama. Making that quiz and discovering the answers had to be my favorite part of planning her party. I loved learning more about her.

Our dear Sherry made my mom's beautiful cake! Look at all of those gorgeous roses!!
It was a magical night! And I hope she feels all of that magic and love for her for many weeks to come! I am so lucky and blessed to call this amazing lady my MOTHER! xo
